THE BOY AND THE GOAT
Metro Arts Theatre 2005

Writer: Dan Eady
Director: Andrew Cory
Set Designer: Tanja Beer
Lighting Designer: Geoff Squires

Performed at The Metro Arts Theatre,
Brisbane, Australia 2005.

INFO:
On a detailed set that acts as a living room while simultaneously suggesting a war scene, we watch two brothers grow up in the shadow of their father’s Vietnam war. The set creates a camouflaged claustrophobia, always threatening to engulf the rest of the stage. Multiple televisions around the set (reminiscent of the extensive media coverage of the Vietnam War) underscore the two extremes of the human condition: comfort (the familiar domestic setting) and fear (the camo-netting, war and violence).
