ELIXIR
Melbourne Fringe Festival 2002

Writer: Ali Alizadeh
Director & Designer: Tanja Beer

Photography by: Samantha Everton

INFO:
Presented at the Store Room, Elixir was adapted from a story in poetry by Iranian-Australian poet Ali Alizadeh. The design was created in exploration with the actors on practically no budget, and featured an installation of milk crates and scrunched up paper to help capture the underbelly of an urban environment in which the piece was set. In the last scene, the protagonist writes on the walls of the theatre while engaging the audience in a monologue about his experiences of violence in the Iraq-Iran war.
