Director: Christopher Totten
Set & Costume Designer: Tanja Beer
Performed at The Metro Arts Theatre,
Brisbane Pride Festival, Australia, 2003.
INFO: An installation of 200 perilously balanced and floating individual chairs is revealed slowly over time with selected lighting. The setting of this absurdist play takes place in a map shop in a time where Aids has become an epidemic, threatening to take over the world (much like the claustrophobic nature of the chairs slowly taking over the stage). A man in a map shop collects the chairs from those who have died of Aids: each chair, unique and fragile, is reminiscent of its previous owner.

“…This is aided wonderfully by Tanja Beer’s startling design, which features an installation of precariously balanced and floating individual chairs..” Scene
