Score! is inspired by Michel Fokine’s ballet Petrushka and reality TV shows. In this adaptation, the puppeteer in Petrushka is transformed into a TV host, and his “dancing puppets” become the contestants in a reality TV competition. The set takes on the form of a T.V. studio with a curved wall that supports the multi-media aspects of the play. Both projection and shadow effects are used to create the glitzy T.V. world, as well as the more subtle behind the scenes moments.
