Presented with St Martins Theatre of Youth and re-developed with the Victorian Collage of the Arts Director’s Season, Journeys in a Suitcase was a devised image-based movement piece about some of the internal and external journeys that we encounter in life: departure, travel, loss, discovery and arrival. The show opened with an empty stage with a suspended installation of suitcases and as the piece progressed, more suitcases were accumulated (with the addition of 200 flying postcards) as the actors journey into a world of discovery and the unfamiliar. The suitcases were workshopped with the actors from an early stage, and helped to create different performance spaces and support the stories being told.
